As much as I like working in the academy, I'd never have made it as a straight-up academic. Who wants to work that hard? Still, a toe-dip into that world is good for the leetle gray cells, and I really liked this brief literary analysis of The Red Carnelian, an apparently forgotten masterpiece of the romantic mystery genre.
